Safety note

Kind Dog Guide is intended for everyday, non-dangerous, non-medical dog-training education only.

The content must not delay veterinary care or qualified behavior support when health, pain, injury, sudden change, bite risk, severe fear, panic, separation-related distress, or dangerous behavior is present.

When article-only help is not enough

Do not rely on this site alone for aggression, bites, threats to people or animals, dangerous lunging, severe fear, panic, separation-related distress, self-injury, sudden behavior changes, possible pain or illness, repeated accidents with possible health signs, or child/visitor safety concerns.

Depending on the situation, appropriate help may include a veterinarian, qualified positive-reinforcement trainer, certified behavior consultant, veterinary behavior professional, or emergency service. If you are unsure where to start, review the dog behavior red flags.

Training approach

This site supports humane, reward-based, low-stress training. It does not recommend shock collars, prong collars, choke chains, leash corrections, alpha rolls, dominance-downs, intimidation, flooding, or punishment-based methods.
